1. I’m a beautiful mess sometimes. But I wouldn’t have it any other way…it means I’m growing and learning and responding and reacting and living…this complete roller coaster that is life.
2. I’m beginning to realize that life is fluid not static. Things are constantly changing, and I have to give up my firm hold and let things move as they will.
3. Music elevates me. It puts me on a plane somewhere between earth and heaven. Nothing moves me more…
4. Except perhaps the written word… Fiction and poetry, particularly fantasy is my favorite language to speak.
5. If you haven’t read Inkheart and Inkspell…you won’t understand…but I am beyond envious of Meggie’s ability to harness the magic of words and make stories into reality. I’d give up everything to have that gift.
6. I’m in love with Jesus Christ, my Savior. I cling to Him more as the days go by, learning more fully what it means to live freely and empowered with His grace.
7. I’m slow to trust but then I’m quick to love. I push too hard, and I know that I give too much. I’m by no means perfect, but if you let me in…I’ll make it worth your while.
8. I really wish that I could walk well in high heels. I’ve always wanted to be graceful but God just didn’t have it in the plan for me. I trip all the time and run into things. I like to think of myself as endearingly awkward.
9. I want to visit Prince Edward Island, and I have a strong obsession with the name Avonlea. If you have to ask why, you have missed out on a wonderful series of fiction and you won’t understand why I’ve titled this blog, RaeofAvonlea.
10. I’m completely contradictory. I want to be taken on an adventure, but I love the safety that planning and rules provide. I want the best of all worlds. I have a lot of layers.
11. I have a weakness for trying new hair products. Anything with the words “root volumizing” or “big sexy hair” is a must purchase.
12. I need someone to take me to karaoke…It’s an itch that needs to be scratched and I have the BEST outfit.
13. I miss Baylor University every single day.
14. I can quote most Disney movies all the way through. And sing the songs. And name the characters. There’s something comforting about childhood movies.
15. I was home schooled until my sophomore year of high school. Some people (aka my mother) attribute my smarts to those years of my life. Who am I kidding? I do too…
16. My heart melts when I see baby twin boys. I want that so bad. My biggest life goal, beyond academia and my industry and my profession, is to be a loving and passionate mother. So beautiful.
17. One day I want to write for a living…wonderful things that move people to tears and to laughter. I want to share life with people.
18. I WAS a sellout and bought a Mac Book Pro and an iPhone in the same year. Next on my list? the iPad. ThankĀ you, Steve Jobs, for wrecking my bank account.
19. I’m in search of a roommate so I can move out of my house. Interested?
20. I love going to concerts. Someone take me please!
21. Everyday when I drive on the highway, I get this almost insatiable desire to keep driving, to not take all the “right” exits…to just keep driving across this amazing country that I love. I want to see all of the United States.
22. I’m passionate about freedom and individualism and personal responsibility. I believe in causes very strongly.
23. I could dance all night. I love to dance. I love to dance with my girls. HOWEVER, you should know that when I was in show choir, they put me in the back row even though I was the vocal soloist…I’m a HORRIFIC choreographed dancer. It has to be freestyle to be any good.
24. I’m always eating Mexican food. In fact, if ever you want to go to dinner, just assume that I’ll say I need some queso and salsa.
25. Love. It’s what I’m about. Loving others and needing to be loved in return.
